Boardoza TMD37253M Ambient Light, RGB Color and Proximity Sensor Breakout Board

The TMD37253M Ambient Light, RGB Color, and Proximity Sensor Breakout Board is designed to enable the fast and reliable integration of the TMD37253M sensor into embedded systems. The board features an onboard LDO regulator that provides the 1.8 V supply voltage required by the sensor, allowing compatibility with both 3.3 V and 5 V systems. In addition, the onboard bidirectional I²C level shifter and INT level shifter enable direct communication with microcontrollers operating at either 3.3 V or 5 V logic levels. The TMD37253M integrates ambient light sensing (ALS), RGB color sensing (RGBC+IR), and proximity sensing into a single compact device. The integrated IR LED and factory-calibrated LED driver provide reliable and accurate proximity detection, while the programmable interrupt (INT) output supports event-driven operation. The sensor utilizes RGB photodiodes with integrated UV and IR blocking filters to generate 16-bit ambient light and color measurement data, enabling accurate measurement of illuminance and correlated color temperature. The board also includes a power indicator LED, the required bypass capacitors, and I²C pull-up resistors. It can be easily interfaced with Arduino, STM32, ESP32, Raspberry Pi, and other I²C-compatible development platforms. The board is well suited for a wide range of applications, including display brightness control, color detection, proximity sensing, industrial automation, and smart home systems.
