Boardoza IS31FL3730 16x16 LED Dot Matrix Breakout Board
Boardoza 16x16 Dot Matrix Breakout Board is a compact, high-density visual display module featuring a 16x16 grid of 256 individual LEDs driven by dual IS31FL3730 matrix LED controller ICs. It interfaces over a shared I²C bus, utilizing dedicated hardware addressing (with the address pin tied to VCC on U1 and GND on U2) to allow independent control of both 8x16 sub-matrix banks. The board includes an active-low hardware shutdown (/SD) pin for low-power standby and an AC-coupled analog modulation input (DIM) that feeds the internal audio-effect amplifier for real-time sound-reactive visualizations. Brightness can be adjusted digitally through internal I²C control registers or dynamically modulated via the DIM pin using a microcontroller DAC output, PWM signal, or line-level audio waveform. Backed by onboard local power filtering, this module provides an all-in-one solution for scrolling text banners, retro gaming graphics, IoT status dashboards, and audio spectrum visualizers.

Key Features
- High-Density 16x16 Matrix: Integrates a 256-LED display grid assembled from 4 modular 8x8 dot matrix units for rendering smooth text, icons, and animations.
- Shared I²C Bus: Hardware-configured addressing allows independent control of both driver ICs across a single I²C bus.
- Analog Dimming Function: Features an analog modulation input (DIM) to dynamically modulate display brightness or create audio-visualizer effects via external sound / analog signals.
- Hardware Shutdown Control: Equipped with an active-low shutdown (/SD) pin to transition both display drivers into an ultra-low-power standby state.
